-the ZEITGEIST MOVEMENT
-contemplating the difference between capitalism and socialism.
-does democracy even exist without money?
-what is life supposed to mean, and how are we supposed to be different?

something that really hits the spot.

i've been exposed to some weird things lately, such as meeting new and strange people, finding out things i've never thought existed, and eating a variety of foodS that i never thought i would ever try. california sure does offer some interesting sights on things, and it seems to have a subtle affect on me as well. however, when i came across this movie; Zeitgeist- Addendum, i was srsly introduced to a whole new world- it attempts to locate the root causes of this pervasive social corruption, meaning the way that we were "meant" to live, and how it came to be of such routines and regulations, while offering a different, or a better solution to this movement. This solution is not based on politics, morality, laws, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, but rather on a modern, non-superstitous based understanding of what we are and how we align with nature, to which we are a very specific part of. the work strongly advocates a new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influenced by the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project.

i don't believe all of the proposals that were suggested in this film, but i certainly do agree with majority of the aspects that were clearly proven by the narrator. the concepts and idealogies that were shown in this piece are not cited or clarified, but from a certain perspective of a vast group of people, who think in different ways than those are already different. these radical changes in our society is what we need, but not necessarily looked upon and considered. i very much liked this movie, its distinctive point of views from the outcasts, and their hopes in stepping the world up a notch.

cut back a little bit, man.

it's good to sometimes step back a little bit from something, and look at the wider view of the situation before making any decisions. just to kick back, and have enough grace and charm to sit back and relax. with so much homework (mainly art) going on, i have only been able to contradict myself from what i told myself earlier in the year. i promised myself not to get caught up on work, but again, i've done exactly so. nobody would agree that its a bad thing, but i'd like to believe so. i, like all human beings, sometimes need time to step aside from the traffic and see which cars are going which ways, so that i can figure out which road to take, and how fast i want to take it.

it's 5:08 in the morning and i haven't slept much, but as my bud lyndie once said; "haha, that's so college." i'd like to think it's all part of the process. don't ask me which process because i don't know, but i know that im doing something right, and all i know and hope is that im in the process of something- something i haven't yet figured out yet, but when i do, i'll look back upon this day, at 5:11 AM, and say, "that was why."

my new idol.

last tuesday, and thursday, i was able to meet a very (probably the most) missed relative of mine, my aunt. (my dad's side) she is a training director who works for the metropolitan dance studio in Korea, and her and her dancers came all the way here in Los Angeles to perform for the annual Korean Festival, specifically in West Hollywood. meeting her for the first time in 4 years wasn't exactly the most unawkward thing to do, but as time went by, i felt at home and was relaxed enough to talk to her. i realized more and more that she is and will always be my family, and that was very comforting to me. i got to see her show, some dance pieces that she choreographed, and some done by others. it was amazing to see traditional Korean dancers in their very neat costumes, dancing to a very different music, with a distinctive style. it was an entertaining, and most definitely an eye-opening experience. after the show, it was too late to go back to Pasadena, so she asked me to stay with her for the night at the hotel she was staying in. i've become friends with some of her guy dancers, and we had a small drinking/talking/cigaretting session. (with 2 mini-kegs!) overall, it was a very interesting experience, but i was very sad to see her go, because neither of us knew when we were gonna see each other next. 'hopefully by next summer', she said, and i agreed. although it might have seemed like it was fun partying with her group in hotel rooms, but i was truly inspired by what she does and what drove her to create such beautiful motion art. i do idolize her, and i hope that one day, i'll have become someone that passionate. i will miss her dearly, and i close this with a hopeful mind that i will see her soon, and rest of the family back in Korea as well.

ok so, i've been watching these videos on youtube by this guy named bob, so called the host of: 'drinkingwithbob'. he has some points and opinions that are somewhat debatable, but never to correct. now, i'm not saying he is a genius, i'm just pointing out that he has some really radical and yet, on with the program stuff to say on his ever-so-popular videos, and they have never so painfully but so quietlessly drew and grabbed my rigid attention and ignorance. they're mostly about the american politics and how messed up it is. and of course, who doesn't know much about politics these days... But for a guy who names himself 'drinkingwithbob' and puts out rant videos about how our country sucks ass, he makes us wonder- to re-think about our cheapbeer-filled minds, and actually ponder in some wishful thoughts about our future-politically and realistically.

At least for me, anyway.
